Anne Tressa Mourlot

October 23, 1944 — March 6, 2024

Anne T. Mourlot, 79 of Fayetteville, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2024.

Anne (or “Annie” as she was affectionately called by her husband) was born in Emanuel County, GA and raised in Chelsea, MA. Upon graduation from high school, she married William “Bill” Mourlot who served in the U.S. Air Force and together they traveled the world and started a family. Bill and Anne retired in Fayetteville where their daughter and two sons continue to live today.

Anne was the matriarch of the Mourlot family. She loved her children immensely and wanted nothing more in life than to be close to them. She loved animals and made them her business through several successful endeavors in her life. She loved the people around her, and they loved her back. Some of Anne’s best times in life were when she had a fishing rod in hand, and family and friends by her side.

Anne is survived by her children, Robert Mourlot (Beverly), Laura Strother (Kenny), and William Mourlot, Jr.; her brother, Wayne Gross of Sandersville, GA; sisters-in-law, Maxine Gross of Tennille, GA and Ann McNally (Dennis) of Port Saint Lucie, FL; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends, all who loved her dearly. Anne was preceded in death by her husband, (ret.) SMSGT William Mourlot; mother, Bessie Bradden; father, Abraham Gross; and brothers, Robert Gross and Mark Gross.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 19, 2024 at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake.

A celebration of Anne's life will be held at her residence at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2024.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in Anne’s honor to be made to the Fayetteville Animal Protection Society, 3927 Bragg Blvd., Fayetteville, NC 28303.
