Barbara Furr

Barbara Jean Furr, 76 of Hope Mills, passed away unexpectedly on December 6, 2022.

Born in Cumberland County, Jean is the daughter of the late Roy and Isabelle Blackmon. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Bobby M. Furr, Sr.; sister, Bessie Ammons; brother, Roy L. Blackmon; daughter, Bobbie Denise Few; and great granddaughter, Tiffany.

She is survived by her siblings, Lois Douglas of Sanford, Mattie Wilson of Travelers Rest, SC, Frances Blackmon of Georgia, Donald Blackmon of Carthage, Patricia Blackmon of Dunn; children, Joyce (Randy) Yow of Sanford, Linda Furr of Roseboro, Brenda (Trent) Murufo of Randleman, Deborah (Steve) Scott of Hope Mills, Bobby M. Furr, Jr. (Samantha) of Stedman, Frances (David) Jones of Hope Mills, Frederick Furr of the home; 16 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.

Jean loved to cook and was known as the “chef of her family.” She was a loving, caring, and dedicated family person. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
