Brian Scott Elkins, 41, of Hope Mills, passed away Monday, February 3, 2020.
Brian was born December 11, 1978 at Wake Med Hospital in Raleigh. He formerly attended Garner High School and was most recently employed as a plumber and framer for Clayton Homes.
Brian is survived by his mother, Linda Hutchinson Elkins of Hope Mills, NC; father, Robert Michael "Mike" Elkins and wife Jeannette of Angier, NC; grandma, Ruby Elkins of Louisburg, NC; friend and second cousin, Tommy Elkins of Hope Mills, NC; brothers, Jonathan Elkins and wife Amy of Clayton, NC and Mark "Derek" Elkins and wife Jessica of Casper, WY; two nephews, six nieces; three aunts; five uncles; eight cousins; and a host of other family and friends, all of whom loved him dearly.
Brian loved to "tinker" on cars as a mechanic in his spare time. He was a TV and movie enthusiast, making him knowledgeable of the most obscure Hollywood movie trivia. He enjoyed writing and was often referred to as a "closet" poet. Brian was actively attending Harvest Baptist Church in Hope Mills, and was excited about serving the church and being a part of its future.
He will be best remembered for the Elkins' Smile, which is more of a smirk. He loved children, especially all of his nephews and nieces. He also loved animals and his pets, including his cat Lou-Lou who will miss sleeping on his lap.
Brian had a deep bass voice and an even deeper laugh. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Harvest Baptist Church building fund in memory of Brian Scott Elkins.
