Charles Steven (Steve) Ashcraft, age 76, passed away Saturday, January 27, 2024.
Steve served our country in the Army during Vietnam. He attended East Carolina University, graduating with a master’s degree in mechanical engineering. He worked and retired from Black & Decker with over thirty years of employment where he served as their senior engineer. In his free time, he enjoyed working on projects like woodworking. Above all, he loved spending time with his family.
Steve is preceded in death by his parents, Leland and Minnie Ruth Ashcraft and his sister, Sherry Meade.
Steve is survived by his wife, Virginia; his son, Charles Steven Ashcraft, Jr and wife, Amanda; his daughter, Karen Chick and husband, Andy. He leaves behind seven grandchildren, Alexanderia Ashcraft, Victoria Parker, Christopher Ashcraft, Matthew Lafferty and wife, Alecia, Chandler Ransom and husband, Ryan, Piper Chick, and Thatcher Chick; seven great grandchildren; four siblings, Linda Williams and husband Rick, Dan Ashcraft and wife Jane, Lois Holliday and husband Garry, and Debbie Robertson and husband Gary. Being from a large family he has too many nieces and nephews to count. He loved all of them dearly.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 1, 2024, from 10:30 to 11:30 AM, at Pinecrest Funeral & Cremation Services. A Funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM following the visitation at the Pinecrest Chapel. The interment will be held at 1:00 PM at Lafayette Memorial Park West.
Family and friends are invited to come and share fond memories at the family’s home after all the services. Food will be served.
