Elvin Brewington

Elvin Brewington, 80 of Hope Mills, passed away Saturday, July 1, 2023.

Born July 12, 1942 in Sampson County, Elvin was the son of the late Sanford Brewington and Sallie Emanuel Brewington. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Ed Locklear, Ben Brewington, and Jimmy Brewington; and his sisters, Geraldine Locklear, Jean Conley, Lucille Locklear, Cerosha Way, Maglean Bullard, and Peggy Brewington.

Elvin is survived by his wife of 60 years, Reta Mae Brewington; daughter, Annie Sue Locklear and husband Freddie; son, Dennis Brewington and wife April; son, Terry Brewington; brother, Ralph Brewington and wife Diane; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends.

Elvin enjoyed fishing and camping at Holden Beach, watching NASCAR and wrestling, and most of all, spending time with his family and friends. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend who will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
