Ethel Mae Hardee Williams, 86 of Raeford, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2020.
Born in March 16, 1934 in Hope Mills, Ethel is the daughter of the late John Oliver Hardee and Ethel Beverly Hardee. Along with her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, John Mack Williams, Sr.; son, John Mack Williams, Jr.; granddaughter, Joy Mistina Williams; grandson, James Michael Williams; four brothers; and a sister.
Growing up in Cumberland County, Ethel graduated from Massey Hill High School in 1952. Later she would work with Rose's Department Stores for several years before retiring as Stockroom Manager. She also volunteered diligently with the Salvation Army, where she was a member for 68 years.
Ethel is survived by her daughter, Mary Williams Edwards and husband Hank Sr. of Raeford; son, Joey Mark Williams and wife Carmen of Parkton; son, Joshua Matt Williams and wife Mandie of Red Springs; daughter, Barbara Hardee Howard and husband Ronnie of St. Augustine, FL; grandchildren, Crystal Milliken and husband Willie, Hank Edwards Jr. and wife Rayvin; Timothy Williams, Destiny Williams, Morgan Davis, Alan Bohannon, Jenice Pierce and husband Christopher, Ty Williams and wife Mary, Joey Williams, Jr. and wife Leann, Tonya Thompson, Ritchie Williams, William Patrick Williams and wife Laci, and Ryan Howard; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.
Ethel enjoyed life and loved spending time with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
