Grace Shaull

Grace Martelli Shaull, 82, of Hope Mills, NC passed away Monday, July 9, 2018.

Born April 13, 1936 in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Dominick and Mary Martelli. Along with her parents, Grace was also preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, LaVerne R. Shaull; and brother, Anthony Martelli.

She is survived by her daughter, Michelle and her husband Darren; her son, Verne and his wife Theresa; granddaughter, Heather and her husband Shawn; grandson, Stetson; great grandchildren, Layla, Gavin and Reagan; and brother, Joseph Martelli.

Grace worked alongside her husband in the newspaper industry and was involved in community and professional organizations for over 3 decades. This vocation took them from Ohio to various locations in Canada, where they lived for 18 years before retiring to North Carolina. Her hobbies included Italian cooking, baking, reading, crocheting, doll making and other craft projects. She had a gift for making conversation with anyone and often made new friends in waiting rooms or checkout lines. After moving to Hope Mills, she looked forward to craft days with her friends and Bunco night. Grace always enjoyed having visitors and never let anyone go away hungry. She was happiest when her whole family was together. Grace loved her dogs, treating them as her 4 legged children.

Grace was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend who will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
