Helen Sherrill

FAYETTEVILLE - Helen Clara Dunlap Sherrill age 93 of Fayetteville died Thursday August 17, 2017 at the NC State Veterans Home in Fayetteville.

Born in Moore County Mrs. Sherrill was the daughter of the late J. H. and Maud Stewart Dunlap. She was also preceded in death by her husband Parks Ray Sherrill and 14 siblings.

Prior to her marriage, Helen worked for the Farmer's Home Administration in Carthage. Upon marriage, she became a homemaker and dedicated military wife who spent a tour of duty with her husband in France. She had deep love for the Lord Jesus and often demonstrated that in her relationships to others.

She is survived by her step daughter, Ruth Cummings of PA and her step grandson Timothy Walker a step granddaughter Elizabeth Spencer and four step great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday August 22 at 1:00 p.m. from Pinecrest Funeral & Cremation Services in Hope Mills conducted by pastor Jim Merkel. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park West in Fayetteville.

The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
