James Tiernan

James Patrick Tiernan, 71, of Fayetteville, passed away, August 13, 2018 after a brief and difficult fight with lung cancer, surrounded by family when he left this earth.

Born in Westchester County, he was the son of the late James Francis and Helen Baio Tiernan. He was a decorated and proud Vietnam veteran, retired from the Fayetteville Police Department after 34 years of service. James was a beloved husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Bass Tiernan; children, Angelica Morrison and husband Brian, James Tiernan, Andrew Tiernan and wife Alexandria, and four grandchildren.

Due to flower restrictions at the cemetery, the family has requested memorials may be made to Pinecrest Funeral & Cremation Services to help with funeral expenses.
