Kathleen “Kathy” Theresa McFeeley (Jones), 79 of Raeford, NC, was called upon her Heavenly Home on Sunday, May 8, 2022. She passed peacefully in her sleep only after wishing some of her care providers a “Happy Mother’s Day.” Kathy had a horrible sense of direction, so we are confident she was guided by a Loving Angel in the right direction and met by awaiting preceding parents, sister, husband and other loving family and friends!
Born on March 24, 1943, in Essex County, NJ, Kathy is the daughter of the late Robert and Betsy Jones. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Tom McFeeley; and her sister, Betty Helber (Jones).
Kathy is survived by her brother, Robert “Bobby” Edward Jones, Jr.; son, Art Salisbury [Norma-Liliana]; and daughters, Sharon Baxter - Salisbury (David) and Michele Salisbury; 6 grandchildren, Joseph Meyers, Christian Salisbury, Lisa Baxter, Lana Baxter, Jacob Salisbury, and Noah Salisbury; Nephew and Godson, Daniel Helber and nephew Rob Jones; nieces, Dana Helber – Hurtibese, Kerry Jones – Lancey, and Devon Jones.
Kathy was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and grandmother. She loved to be at the beach or around a pool, no sunscreen!! She loved her cigarettes almost, if not more, than anything else in this world and if you got her out on the dance floor, be prepared to be there for a while, she loved to dance! The only other person she may have stopped dancing for was Patrick Swayze, who we are sure she’s asking right now for a “Dirty Dance!”
Kathy had such a beautiful smile and a contagious laugh. She never met a stranger and treated everyone like family. She would brighten a room once she entered it and get many involved in her stories! She probably would have been a successful stand-up comedian had female comedians been more popular in the 60’ and 70’s! She was loved by all, especially her care providers at Autumn Care of Fayetteville, NC, who we appreciate all they did to make her comfortable.
She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
Luke 2:29 – “Lord, now You are letting your servant depart in peace, according to your word.”
The family will receive friends beginning at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2022, with a celebration of Kathy's life to follow, at Pinecrest Funeral and Cremation Services in Hope Mills, NC.
