Larry Cain, 69, of Fayetteville, passed away January 3, 2018, at his home surround by his family.

Born in Cumberland County, he was the son of Kenneth McQueen Cain and Edna Earl Brantley Cain. He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, William Steven Cain; and his step-father, Luther Barney Young.

He is survived by his wife, Pat of 48 years; a daughter, Tammy Dawn Cain Beaney and husband Johnny and one granddaughter, Arika Nicole Beaney, all of Fayetteville; a sister, Deloris Nichols, of Benson; a brother Clif Cain and wife Glenda; a niece, Tonya Cain; all of Leesburg, GA; two step-brothers, Robert (Bobby) Young and wife Linda, and Jimmy Young and wife Donna; three nephews; Kenneth Steven Cain and wife Chantel, Phillip Semel, and Gene Semel and wife Erin; his neighbor who was like his daughter, Kelly Horne Phillips and husband Kevin and his sweet dog Bailey.

Larry attended Massey Hill High School and Worth Business College. He served in the US Navy. He was a Vietnam Veteran and received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and Combat Action Ribbon. He was a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America and served as the Vice-President of Chapter 1033. He retired from the US Postal Service after 35 years of service.

Larry was an avid golfer and a self-taught guitarist. He and Pat loved riding motorcycles and spending time with their friends. Larry touched many lives through the years. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
