Lillian Towery

Lillian Mae Smith Towery, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother 91 of Fayetteville passed away Sunday Dec. 23, 2018 at her residence.

Born in Cumberland County she was the daughter of the late James and Lela Sauls Smith. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Daniel David Towery; son Daniel David Towery, Jr & wife Nelia Bennett Towery; sons-in-law, Hebron Scott, Stanley Jacobs and C. W. Smith; sisters, Dollie Brotherton, Faye Bertrand and Chris Alexander; brothers, Glenn Smith, Sam Smith and Ray Smith; a grandson, Leon Thomas Towery, Jr.; 2 great-grandchildren, Charleston Christian Elijah Eades and Coda Wakefield.

She is survived by 4 daughters, Barbara Ann Scott, Linda Smith Lupo & husband Joseph, Delores Towery Jacobs and Wendy Towery Cowser & husband Johnny all of Fayetteville and Brenda Messing of Parkton; a son, Leon Thomas Towery of Parkton; brother-in-law, Jay Alexander of Vernal, UT; and 20 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren.

She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
