Lonnie Clayton Murphy, Jr. died peacefully at the Fayetteville VA Medical Center on February 3rd 2017, in Fayetteville, NC, at the age of 75.
Lonnie was born on November 11, 1941 in New Hanover County to Lonnie & Dorothy Murphy. He married Ellen Godwin (Murphy) in 1983. Lonnie worked for Twisdale Manufacturing for 22 years as a diesel mechanic. Lonnie was a Tech Sergeant in the US Air Force. He served from 1961 to 1973.
Lonnie is survived by his wife, Ellen Murphy; daughter, Beth DeLuca; sister, Shelia Baker; nephew, Mark Bake; and granddaughter, Arya DeLuca, of Wilmington NC.
