Matthew Locklear

Matthew Kevin "Tug" Locklear, 48 of Fayetteville passed away August 6, 2021.

Born in Scotland County he is the son of Bobby Locklear and Rita Brooks Lossman. He was preceded in death by his step father, Bill Lossman.

In addition to his parents he is survived by daughter, Chloe Mikel; son, Caleb Locklear; sister, Brooke Gonzalez & husband Jose: brother, Clay Locklear; step brothers, Billy Lossman & wife Becky and Kenny Lossman; former wife, Melanie Locklear; close friend, Amy Naugle.

He was a helicopter mechanic for over 27 years, 6 of which were in the US Army.  Matthew got his nickname "Tug" from his career as a helicopter mechanic from tugging the helicopters around Simmons Army airfield here at Fort Bragg.

He enjoyed ATV riding and you could usually find him riding his motorcycle or at the gym power lifting.  He will always be remembered as a gentle giant and his booming voice echoing at his children's sporting events
