Mrs. Mattie Stephens Guilette, 87, of Fayetteville, died Friday, May 14, 2021 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Born February 2, 1934 in Raeford, Mrs. Guilette was daughter of the late Younger and Minnie Elizabeth Stephens. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Ronald J. Guilette; five sisters, Lela Jackson, Jessie Brisson, Elizabeth Renegar, Loretta Wood, and Margaret Croteau; and six brothers, Belton Stephens, Russell Stephens, Stacy Stephens, Bud Stephens, Douglas Stephens, and Tracy Stephens.

She is survived by her daughters, Joan Carlucci and husband Danny of Raleigh, and Barbara Maxwell and husband Clarence of Hope Mills; son, Thomas Guilette of Calabash; sisters, Rachel Clark of Raeford, and Beth Jean Sechrist of Raeford; nine grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

Mrs. Guilette was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to The Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org or the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
