HOPE MILLS - Msgt. William (Bill) E. Coleman (ret.) went home to be with the Lord Thursday, September 10, 2009 after a lengthy illness.
Bill retired from the US Army after serving 22 years. His service included the Korean war and the Vietnam conflict. During service in the Korean war he was wounded and received a purple heart.
After his military service he attended Robeson Technical Institute. He became an electrical instructor and taught twelve years at Robeson tech.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Stella F. Coleman; four children; Debra Coleman of St. Pauls, Billy Coleman Jr. of Hope Mills, Reba Mercer of Fayetteville, Shelia Trogdon of Clayton eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
We will dearly miss you daddy, but we know you are in heaven with Jesus.
All donations can be made to Hillside Baptist Church, Hope Mills, NC or Liberty Hospice of Fayetteville, NC.
The Coleman family wishes to thank you for your prayers and support.
Funeral services were Sunday, September 13, 2009 at 3 pm at Hillside Baptist Church on Legion Road with interment at New Hollywood Cemetery in Lumberton.
