Peggy Edge

Peggy Warren Edge, 80 of Hope Mills, passed away Saturday, August 7, 2021 in her home with family by her side.

Born in Fayetteville, Peggy is the daughter of the late Thomas Warren and Mamie Julia Black Warren.

Peggy graduated from Pine Forest High School as valedictorian, and Campbell University, summa cum laude, with a B.S. in Accounting. She was a dedicated employee of Sears, Roebuck and Co. for 28 years in accounting/auditing and management. After retirement from Sears, Peggy was an invaluable employee of Morganton Management for 19 years.

Peggy was a long-time member and servant of the Lord at Village Baptist Church and Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. Peggy enjoyed cooking and baking, her family, her church family, community service, and her two beloved poodles, Abby and Arnie.

She is survived by her husband, Robert "Bobby" Edge; daughters, Cheryl Thomas and Cynthia Thomas; son, Dale Edge and wife Sherry; granddaughter, Rachel Lane; great grandchildren, MacKenzie Lane, Cole Lane, and Maddie Lane; sister, Geraldine Hales; brother, Thomas Warren, Jr.; and a host of other family and friends.

Peggy touched the lives of her family and friends with her boundless love, her kind and giving spirit and her love of the Lord. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to the Hospice Volunteer Department at HealthKeeperz, or to Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church.
