Robert (Bobby) Edward Johnson, Jr.

Robert (Bobby) Edward Johnson, Jr., age 80, of St. Pauls, North Carolina, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2024.

Bobby loved spending time with his large family, fishing, and watching UNC Tarheels play.

Bobby served in the Armed Forces where he was honorably discharged and worked as a carpenter with his brothers.

Bobby is preceded in death by his wife Sue Smith Johnson; daughters, Polly Johnson and Angela Johnson; grandchildren, Lindsey Johnson and Matthew Heath; both parents, Buck and Juanita Johnson; and stepdad, David Baxley; and four brothers, Sammy, Tommy, Garnett, and Roland Johnson.

Bobby is survived by three sisters, Ann Dove (Chuck) of St. Pauls, Barbara Pulse of Bladenboro, Janet Edge (Dewitt) of Hope Mills; and brother, Johnny Johnson (Shelia) of Grays Creek; three children,  Jeremy Johnson (Angie) of Grays Creek, Christy Spears (James) of Hope Mills, and Debbie Lee (Mark) of Stedman. He leaves behind eight grandchildren, Kevin Johnson (Megan), Rachel Johnson (Nick), Jordan Johnson, and Andrew Johnson, Chad Spears (Trina), Norah Spears, Ashley Fairfax, and Miranda Johnson; eleven great grandchildren, Tyler McFadden, Jamal and Josiah Blake, Alyssa, Damion, and Aiyanna Neighbors, Elijah, Madelyn, Nina, Matthew Jr. and Austin Heath; and one great-great granddaughter, Aliana McPhaul; and twenty-four nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

A memorial service will be held at 12pm, Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Pinecrest Funeral Home in Hope Mills. The family will receive friends and family immediately following the service.
