Robert Mack Horne

Robert Mack "Buddy" Horne, 80 of Fayetteville, passed away Monday, July 29, 2024, in his home with family by his side.

Born May 5, 1944, in Sampson County, Buddy is the son of the late Mack and Julia Ann Horne. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters. 

Buddy honorably served his country in the US Navy aboard the USS Rushmore before retiring as a lineman with Civil Service. He will be remembered for his consistent hard work and dedication towards any task assigned to him. In his spare time, he enjoyed winding down by fishing or most importantly, spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Janice V. Horne of Fayetteville; daughter, Tammy H. Fulcher of Fayetteville; daughter, Sandy H. Lord of Buxton; four granddaughters, Amanda V. Horne, Kayla A. Fulcher, Taylor M. Fulcher & her husband Matthew Grossmick, all of Fayetteville, and Cami A. Lord of Buxton; grandson, Corbin M. Lord of Buxton; and a host of other family and friends.

Buddy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will deeply missed and forever cherished by everyone who knew and loved him.
