Shirley Denise Cade was born August 7th, 1954, in Lenoir, North Carolina, to Ella Mae Cade and Sheryl Reed. From there she moved to Baltimore, Maryland where she attended Carved High School. Upon graduating, she worked as a nurse at South Baltimore General and Curr Anne Hospital. Then enlisting in the United States Air Force as a nurse and the first black female crew chief on the flight line where she served 6 years. After leaving the military, she went back to college for her bachelor's in business. From there, she worked as a teacher at South View High School where she created a step team for more years then going to Jack Britt and finishing her career at EE Smith.
She is survived by her daughter, Dawn Cade; son Nicholas "Nick" Cade & wife Diana; grandchildren, Xavier Cade/Tyeshia Evans, Cesar Rodriguez, Elias Rodriguez, Donna Rodriguez, Noname Jenkins, Deandre Newberry, and Reagan Evans; great grandchildren, Za'Kari Jenkins, ka Mylaha; sisters, Debbie Cade and Jackie Alexandra; step children Gladys Jefferson, Latisha Jefferson, Greg Jefferson, Sherri Von Jefferson, Sherry Sneed; step grandchildren Dasha Jefferson, CL Greg Jefferson, Toni Collins, Atwon Collins, Dandre Sneed, Davion Sneed Tyshauna Williams.
Shirley enjoyed working in her yard and gardening. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
