Winbern Franklin Averitt, Jr.

Winbern Franklin Averitt, Jr., passed away Thursday, November 2, 2023.   Born in Cumberland County, he is the son of the late Wilbern Franklin Averitt, Sr., and Ruby Melton Averitt.  He is also preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Averitt.

He is survived by his son, Charles (Frankie) Averitt; grandson, Johnathan Averitt and fiancée Brittany Garvin; granddaughter, Taylor Maynor & husband Joseph; great grandchildren, Maverick Averitt, Wyatt Averitt, and Rylee Reese Maynor.

Wilbern enjoyed racing, hunting, and fishing.  He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.   There will be a gathering of family and friends, Tuesday, November 7, 2023, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, at Pinecrest Funeral and Cremation Services in Hope Mills, NC.  He will be laid to rest at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery.  Graveside service  to be announced.
