Yanely Liana Ureña Ramos

June 18, 2006 — July 24, 2023

Fayetteville, NC

Yanely Liana Ureña Ramos was born to parents Jose Luis and Maria Lilia on June 18th, 2006. She passed away on July 24th, 2023, at the age of 17. Yanely was soon to be a senior at Grays Creek High School scheduled to graduate December 2023. After graduation, Yanely planned on pursuing a career in interior design. She was also looking forward to getting her driver’s license so mom and dad would allow her to get her first job.

She was a sweet, intelligent, and kind young lady. Her love for music was endless and she adored attending all her favorite artist’s concerts where she would sing her heart out without missing a single lyric. Yanely became an avid vinyl collector and grew her collection to 32 records in a short period of time. One of her favorite activities was spending time at the beach with her family, Yanely loved the ocean.

Yanely was full of love, light, life, and was a protector of those she loved and cared for. She was also brave, loyal, strong, and loved EVERYONE regardless of their race, nationality, religion, creed, gender, or sexual orientation. Her compassionate heart wept for those who were treated unjustly, she stood up for those who could not stand up for themselves and always found a way to help those in need. She had a strong temperament and was not afraid to let you know how she felt when she was upset; she would storm off, cool off, and return sweet as ever to reassure you that she loved you.

Yanely was kind to anyone she encountered. She was an excellent student, and wonderful friend. When she wasn't listening to music, you would find her watching her favorite TV shows or playing board games. Yanely loved to remind her parents and siblings that she was the family’s reigning Scrabble champion. She loved animals specially the family dogs Oreo, Luna, and Chiqui. Although she was allergic to cats, she was looking forward to moving out on her own so she could get her own cat, dog, and bunny.

Yanely will always be remembered for her gentleness, grace, and kindness toward others. She always looked out after others and would put others before herself, she was truly a selfless soul.

Yanely is survived by her loving parents, Jose Luis, and Maria Lilia; her siblings Jazmin, Darian, and Daniel; her grandparents, Silverio and Leticia Ramos, Leoncio and Aurora Ureña; aunts Maricela Ambriz, Erica Ramos, Sayra Ureña, and Janelyn Ureña; uncles Silverio Ramos and Geraldo Ureña; cousins Emmanuel, Isabela, Eduardo, Julissa, Xitlali, Olivia, Wilson, William, and Geralynn. Yanely was received in heaven by her great-grandparents Jesus Reyes, Maria de la Luz Ruiz, Maria Sanchez, Leoncio Ureña, Maria Ureña, and Linda Garcia, and her loving cousin Francisco Ramos.

We will truly miss her jovial spirit. We now have another angel watching over and protecting us.
