Alma Cohut

Alma Jean Fox Cohut, age 78 of Wilsons Mills, passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2021, surrounded by her loving family at WakeMed Hospital in Raleigh.

Born September 28, 1942 in Harrison County, WV, Jean was the daughter of the late Charles W. Fox and Joppa Lee Ong Fox. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Charles Fox and William Fox (Brenda); and a daughter, Kimberly Kublawi.

She is survived by her loving husband of 59 and a half years, retired Army Colonel Victor J. Cohut; daughter, Katherine Nylin (Robert) of Smithfield; grandchildren, Kari Baker (Andy) of Wilsons Mills, Brandon Hickey (Bethany) of Spokane, WA, Kristina Cunningham (Ryan) of Leland, Dylan Hickey of University Place, WA, Kandice Nylin of Smithfield, and Grace Kublawi of Wilsons Mills; great grandchildren, Ashton, Kobey, Kaden, Riley, Zoey, and Brooklyn; several nieces and nephews, and a host of other family and friends.

Jean loved coffee, traveling, her blueberry pancakes, coffee, pies, her family, her dog Baxter, and most of all, her cups of coffee.

She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
