James "Jim" Douglas Clouston

June 4, 1942 ~ August 23, 2021 (age 79)

Obituary

James Douglas Clouston 79, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Monday, August 23, 2021 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, after his long battle to live for over three months.

James Douglas Clouston was born on June 4, 1942 in Bradley, Ohio.  He is the youngest of 9 children of the late Robert Linton and Mary Kuhaida Clouston of Bradley, Ohio.  Jim was also preceded in death by his brothers, Ronnie, Bruce, Tom and Richard Clouston; sister Jean Knoblich.

After high school, Jim was employed by the FBI, Washington, DC.  He was later employed as a First Responder by the Metropolitan Police Dept, Washington, DC.  While working with the FBI, he met his co-worker and future bride, Corinna Barbour.  They became married and eventually moved to Fayetteville, NC where Corinna grew up.  He became employed as the Assistant Director for the Cape Fear Criminal Justice Planning Region and eventually became the Director of the Lumber River Criminal Justice Planning Region.  For several years he was involved in sales.  His last employment revolved around the design/installation of video/sound systems for churches as well as corporate businesses.

Jim was very instrumental in organizing/directing a Community Watch Program for the surrounding community where he resided.  He was also actively involved with coaching Little League Baseball during the years his son played sports.  He was very active and served as the Treasurer for the Knights of Pythias Cumberland and Dobbin Lodges for many years.

Jim was a member of Stoney Point Baptist Church for more than 25 years and was actively involved serving in numerous positions.  He loved the Lord and was always willing to serve his Master in every capacity possible.

Jim also enjoyed working in his yard and garden.  Seeing the beauty of God’s hand at work through nature brought him countless hours of joy and pleasure.

Surviving is his loving wife of 57 years, Corinna (Barbour) Clouston, daughter, Tamara Wojtal (Troy); a son, Derrick Clouston (Heather); 3 grandsons, Stephen (19) and Daniel Wojtal (12); and Baron Clouston (15).  He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and cousins as well as numerous extended family members and dear friends.

The light of his life was becoming a grandfather.  There aren’t enough words to describe how much he adored and enjoyed his three grandsons.  They brought many years of joy and happiness to his life.  His one desire was that he would live long enough for his grandchildren to remember him.  This preyed heavily on his heart as he lost his father at the age of 2 in a coal mine accident and could not remember anything about him.

Visitation will be held at Stoney Point Baptist Church, 6554 Rockfish Road, Fayetteville, NC from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Fri, August 27; Celebration of Life service will follow at 1:00 p.m.

Jim will be missed by all, but we rest in the consolation that he is at peace with our Lord and Savior and no longer suffering.  We all look forward to reuniting with him again in that mansion just over the hilltop.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Stoney Point Baptist Church at 6554 Rockfish Road, Fayetteville, NC 28306 or to Knights of Pythias at 210 E. Russell Street, Fayetteville, NC 28301.
