Paul Melvin Hughes, 72, of Hope Mills, passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2021.

Born February 6, 1949 in Huntington, WV, Paul was the son of the late Dewey Willis and Maudie Mae Bartee Hughes.

Paul proudly served in the U.S. Navy for over 20 years, and received numerous medals and awards during his military career.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine Hughes; brother, Lloyd C. Hughes; brother, Dennis A. Hughes; sister and brother-in-law’s, Debra and John Stockton, Peggy and Billy Williamson, and Theresa Jarvis;12 nieces and nephews; 9 great nieces and nephews; 2 great great nephews; and many other family and friends.

Paul will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
