Robert Porter, Sr.

Robert David Porter, Sr., 70 of Hope Mills, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on December 20, 2020, following a long, courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Raleigh County, West Virginia, Robert is the son of the late Troy and Minnie Porter. He was also preceded in death by his son, Robert D. Porter, Jr.; sisters, Joy Harmon and Katherine Craddock; and brothers, Gene Porter, Barney Porter, and Jim Porter.

Robert is survived by his wife of 53 years, Delores Shuck Porter; daughter, Lori Hanes; son, Jason Porter and wife Tabatha; mother-in-law, Bernice Shuck; 3 grandchildren, Nick Porter, Ashley Walton, and Briana Walton; 3 great grandchildren; sisters, Pat Harstad, Nancy Dent, Mary Underwood, and Donna Cochran; brother, John Porter; and many nieces and nephews.

A private memorial is planned for immediate family members only.
