Shelton Powell

Shelton L. Powell, 60 of Fayetteville, passed away Tuesday, June 22, 2021.

Born August 17, 1960 on Fort Bragg, Shelton is the son of the late Kenneth Charles Powell and Genore Williamson Powell.

He is survived by his wife, Penny Phillips Powell; daughter, Brandy Powell Maynor and husband Jerry Lynn Maynor; son, Shelton L. Powell, Jr. and wife Jennifer Barefoot Powell; daughter, Kayla Powell Koket and husband Harold Michael Koket; son, Dustin Lee Powell; grandchildren, Kelsey Maynor, Brandon Maynor, Jr., Ethan Powell, Mason Powell, Shelton "Lee" Powell, Jr., Hazel Powell, Mikey Koket, Landen Koket, Izabella Koket, and Ariel Koket; brother, Kenneth Ray Powell and wife LaVerne Powell, brother, David Lee Powell and wife Cheyenne Powell, sister, Glenda Powell Alexander and husband Larry Alexander; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family members and friends.

Shelton had numerous hobbies he enjoyed doing, including playing golf, coaching softball, and reading. His greatest love was spending time with his grandchildren as often as he could.

Shelton was a dear husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
